Dr. Michael Klaper


Michael A. Klaper, M.D. is a 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, with post-graduate training in internal medicine, surgery, anesthesiology, and orthopedics at the University of British Columbia hospitals in Vancouver and obstetrics at the University of California, San Francisco.  Most fulfilling to him is his current practice, focusing on health-promoting food and lifestyle choices. He has authored numerous articles on plant-based nutrition. Dr. Klaper has served as nutrition advisor to NASA’s programs for space colonists on the Moon and Mars and on the Nutrition Task Force of the American Medical Students Association. Dr. Klaper currently practices nutritionally-based medicine at True North Health Center in Santa Rosa, California.

Robert Grillo is the director of Free from Harm which he founded in 2009 to advocate on behalf of farmed animals. As an activist, author and speaker, Grillo focuses awareness on the animal’s experience and point of view, drawing on insights from sociology, psychology, popular culture, ethics and social justice to bridge the gap between humans and other animals. As a marketing communications professional for over 20 years, Grillo has worked on big food industry brands where he acquired a behind-the-scenes perspective on food branding and marketing. His new book, Farm to Fable: The Fictions of Our Animal Consuming Culture, reveals how popular culture conditions us to consume animal products and how an understanding of these fictions can empower us to help them, ourselves and the planet The book is the basis of his keynote presentation of the same name.

Dr. Kristi Artz firmly believes that food is medicine. As a practicing Emergency Medicine doctor, she witnesses the devastating effect of poor nutrition on health. She acknowledges that current medical care does not seek to promote health through lifestyle modification and hopes to be an advocate for change. Chef Elizabeth is an individually trained chef with twenty plus years of cooking experience and many classes at the Culinary Institute of America and other reputable venues. She travels the world tasting all the various cuisines and then returns home to create dishes for others to enjoy. Chef Elizabeth Suvedi and Dr. Kristi Artz will take you through an eye opening journey about how the food we eat is killing us. They will share with us how we should be eating for optimal health so we can enjoy a life unburdened from medications, doctor’s appointments, and outrageous medical bills.

Dr. Will Tuttle, author of the acclaimed best seller The World Peace Diet, is a recipient of the Courage of Conscience Award and the Empty Cages Prize. He is the creator of several wellness and advocacy training programs and co-founder of Veganpalooza, the largest online vegan event in history. A vegan since 1980 and a former Zen monk, he has created 8 CD albums of uplifting original piano music. The co-founder of Circle of Compassion, he is a frequent radio, television, and online presenter and writer. With his spouse Madeleine, a visionary artist, he presents over 100 lectures, workshops, and concerts annually throughout North America and Europe.




Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen is a 20+ year veteran of animal rights activism and veg lifestyle. After years of experience in business, the arts, fashion, and travel she founded Olsenhaus Pure Vegan in 2008 to illustrate that plundering, cruelty and greed are not synonymous with truth and consciousness. Olsenhaus has been a leader in creating change for nearly a decade. The brand has been sold in 16 countries and at select retailers that include Nordstrom, Barneys, Fred Segal, Amazon, Brandos, Ekyog, and Ron Herman. It has been featured in hundreds of press pieces worldwide and has numerous celebrity clients. Olsenhaus has donated to many animal rights organizations. Elizabeth is currently working on a book, due out in 2016. She travels and speaks to educate on animal rights, consciousness, starting a business, manufacturing, and the effects of leather on the environment.
